Self Care, Resting and This Weird Energy…

If you’re a living, breathing human that listens to their body, then you’ve probably noticed that you’re more tired than usual and your body is aching on and off a bit. If you have a chronic health condition then you might have noticed that your symptoms have been flaring up a bit the more than usual. You can blame that completely on this weird energy.

We’re fast running into eclipse season, the frequency on Earth is rising at a rapid rate and there are spiritual awakenings taking place en-masse right now. The Schumann Resonance (the Earth’s natural frequency) has been spiking like crazy, along with solar flares that disrupt not just technology but human nervous systems too. Add in the planets doing some extra weird shit combined with the forced inner work we’re all being made to do right now. Well the energy can just go fuck itself at this point coz we all need some rest.

It doesn’t matter if you’re spiritual, scientific or somewhere in between. It’s a proven fact that your body responds to energy and right now? It’s fucking overloaded and crying for you to stop when you need to! So here’s my best advice. Stop pushing coz it’s pointless powering through. You have to listen to your body and when your body says “stop,” you fucking listen.  If you don’t, you’ll make it worse for yourself. 

Rest is not a luxury

Rest is not some bullshit ritual that you only do when the moon is at a certain point. IT’S A FUCKING NECESSITY! You need to learn to treat rest accordingly! 

When I say rest, I don’t mean pull a sicky and take the day off, although you can if you choose to do so. I wouldn’t blame you if you did, when I worked in corporate finance, my boss found some of my weird energy excuses for a sick day hilarious. I once correlated the fact his quartz watch had stopped working with Mercury Retrograde and the Schumann resonance being off the chart 🤭

What I actually mean is self care and if that means taking a day to lie down on your bed reading my blog, then do that. Honour your body and give it what it needs. For me, right now. That’s a total time out pretty much. I’ve got a whole routine for when the energy is off and I stick to it like glue! 

Here’s what I do. First off, I make a mug of Earl Grey. I get snacks, any kind of snacks but this week my snacks of choice are fizzy fish (coz they’re only 49p a bag at my local Heron) and a 4 pack of unbranded frozen luxury double chocolate cookies (also from my local Heron and judging by the look of them, I think they’re the posh ones from the in store bakery at Waitrose! Either way, they’re fucking delicious!) and I start my self care routine. 

I oil my hair. If you’re not oiling your hair then why the fuck not? My current faves are the classic Rosemary Hair Oil from Nature Spell and Thrive Hair Oil from Forrest & Shore. I alternate them every other day but on weird energy days, it calls for a deep treatment. I cover my whole scalp and use my scalp massager then comb it through and dowse my hair in it. Then I comb again and plait my hair and whack my satin bonnet on so I don’t look like a greaseball. 

I put detox patches on the soles of my feet. I usually sleep with them but on weird energy days, I usually wear them under my fluffy pink socks for a bit of extra healing. They’re so not fancy or glamorous and who even knows if they actually work but I feel better for it. So who gives a shit?

I’ve got a castor oil pack on my entire abdomen area. Yes, it looks obscene but it’s great for a detox on days like this. No, it does not look attractive in the slightest but I’ve had clean PJs and a hoodie on all day so no one is any the wiser! 

My hands are covered in vitamin E oil and I’ve got cotton gloves on so I don’t get everything greasy! Vitamin E oil is great for my hands because the constant handwashing, energy depletion and this weird energy all dry out my skin. 

I got what I thought was a pack of overnight gel face masks off TikTok shop ages ago. They’re cordyceps and pro-xylene. The instructions were all in Chinese so I uploaded a pic to chatGPT, turns out they’re actually under eye gel masks but they’re amazing for your whole face so that’s what I use them for! Absolute bargain since you get 20 sachets for under £3! These are great for a face rescue on weird energy days. Cheap, cheerful and leave your face feeling and looking like you just had a very expensive facial.

I’d also usually take a bath with Epsom salt, Dead Sea salt and magnesium flakes, but this hotel room doesn’t have a bathtub, so I need to be OK with a shower. Instead of my usual bath salt/flakes cocktail, I’m using the coffee shower scrub from Apocethary87. It’s made with Epsom and Dead Sea salts so it will do for now, plus it makes me smell delicious and leaves my skin super soft. It still scrubs off the energetic sludge I’d usually soak away.

The Main Thing? I’m Not Fighting This.

I’m not pretending I’m fine. I’m not pretending to be high vibe all the time, because you simply can’t be. In this weird energy, I’m just letting my body win.

Rest isn’t an option. It’s the only thing that works.

If you’re feeling it too? Stop fighting. Let yourself pause. Whether you use tools like I am or you just lie still, trust your body. This phase doesn’t last forever.

You’re not broken. You’re recalibrating.

Then when this passes, you’ll rise clearer, stronger and lighter.

Until then, sit your fucking ass down and rest!
